Susanna's Kitchen Coffee House Concerts

Every Third Thursday

Great music! Wonderful musicians, great volunteers and a great cause.  Proceeds from the Susanna's Kitchen concerts go to help people in our community who are in need, through Barnabas Connection,  Operation Good Shepherd, and Camp Good Sam Wimberley, plus scholarships for pre-schoolers at Bright Beginnings.

Great food! Sugar Shack Bakery pies, tamales, pizza, coffee, and soft drinks available. Doors open by 7:00 pm. Concerts start at 7:30 pm and are held in the Fellowship Hall at Wimberley United Methodist Church.

Great Cause! We all benefit- those who come to hear the best music in Wimberley, those who have a great time volunteering their talents to produce the concerts, and the people who are helped by our donations. Mark your calendars for every Third Thursday year round.

Tickets are sold ONLY AT THE DOOR. Tickets range in price from $20-$25 depending on the musician. Cash and checks are currently accepted. Students under 18 are $5.  Concerts are not appropriate for small children, as there is no childcare.
To ensure a good seat, and as some concerts sell out, come early!  Ticket sales begin by 6:30 pm. Arrival between 6:30 pm and 6:45 pm is suggested, especially for very popular musicians.  Come early, enjoy dinner with us and enjoy the concert experience in a small, intimate environment.

Terri Hendrix with Lloyed Maines

December 19, 2019

Terri Hendrix is an award-winning independent Texas songwriter who spins sorrow into joy and wrings wisdom from the blues with a poetic grace and engaging melodic flair that has endeared her to three generations of loyal fans around the globe. Lloyd Maines is a Grammy-award winning producer, steel guitar player and multi-instrumentalist. On December 19, Susanna’s Kitchen Coffeehouse welcomes the duo back to Wimberley.

Recognized by Acoustic Guitar magazine as one of Texas’ 20 essential contemporary singer-songwriters, Hendrix has earned fans worldwide for her singular fusion of folk, pop, country, blues and jazz, delivered with melodic flair, and plenty of wit and wisdom. Along the way, she’s also co-written a Grammy-winning instrumental (the Dixie Chicks’ “Lil’ Jack Slade”), and garnered such honors as a star on the South Texas Music Walk of Fame, the Art of Peace Award by Saint Mary’s University in San Antonio, the Distinguished Alumni Award at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, and an induction into the Women’s Hall of Fame in San Marcos, Texas. Her master recordings and archives are housed at the esteemed Wittliff Collections at Texas State University.

Few people are as important to the development of Texas music over the last 30 years as Lloyd Maines. As a Grammy award-winning producer and musician, the Lubbock-born Maines has played an instrumental role in the creation of some of the Lone Star State's most famous and beloved albums. Over the past 40 years, Maines has worked on approximately four-thousand albums alongside some of the most significant figures in country, rock, and Texas music.

In addition to his producing credits, Maines is an A-list steel guitar player and multi-instrumentalist. Maines has been inducted into the Buddy Holly Walk of Fame in Lubbock, Texas. He was inducted into the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame June 2014.

Terri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines will perform at Susanna's Kitchen Coffeehouse on Thursday, December 19.  Doors open by 7:00 p.m. Concert begins at 7:30 pm at Wimberley United Methodist Church (corner RR 12 & CR 1492).
