Out of the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity.
2 CORINTHIANS 8:2
Why We Give
Generosity is more than giving money. It is a way of living with gratitude for all that God has entrusted to us.
Stewardship means recognizing that our time, talents, resources, and possessions are gifts from God—and choosing to use them faithfully. Throughout Scripture, we see people responding to God's generosity by caring for others, sharing what they have, and putting God's gifts to work.
When we give, we become part of that story. Together, our generosity supports worship and ministry, cares for our neighbors, reaches beyond our community, and helps share Christ's love with others.

A Methodist Tradition
LIVING OUR FAITH THROUGH GENEROSITY
John Wesley encouraged Methodists to practice generosity as a way of life—to “earn all you can, save all you can, and give all you can.”
PEOPLE
Caring for people in our congregation, community, and around the world.
POSSIBILITIES
Supporting ministry today and creating opportunities for tomorrow.
COMMUNITY
Sharing God's love and making a difference in the lives of others.
Wesley lived simply and gave generously, and the earliest Methodist communities regularly collected offerings to care for people in need. That tradition continues today. As United Methodists, we join together to serve God's children both near and far. Through our shared generosity, individual gifts become something greater—supporting ministry, strengthening our community, and reaching people well beyond the walls of our church.
