Mission Outreach

Wimberley UMC participates in a variety of missions, including Crisis Bread Basket, Mission: Border Hope, Barnabas Connection, and Habitat for Humanity.

We use altar rail offerings on communion Sundays to support various outreach programs of the United Methodist Church and beyond, such as the Hays-Caldwell Women's Shelter.

We are grateful for the enthusiastic and generous support that we have experienced from our own congregation as we continue to seek opportunities to serve others in our community, our country, and in the world outside our borders.

Prayer Ministry

The congregation offers prayer shawls to any one who is ill, facing crisis, or celebrating an event in their lives.  The shawls are knitted by congregation members and every stitch is sewn in prayer.  The shawls are blessed during worship.  Requests for shawls can be given by calling the church office at 512-847-3109 or by contacting our Prayer Team.

WUMC also has an online prayer ministry.  If you have a prayer request and would like others to join you in prayers of concern or celebration please contact our Prayer Team.

Praise and Worship Team

The praise team and our traditional choir prepare. perform, and lead us in a blended service with praise music and anthems for our Sunday service.

Special Music Programs: Several times each year, WUMC produces special music services, like Christmas or Easter Cantatas or music Sundays in place of the regular worship service.

Best Buds

Wimberley Best Bud is a mentor program for All Wimberley Kids. We have been serving the community since 2016 by providing volunteer mentors to meet with individual children on the WISD campuses for 30 mins each week. This gift of devoted time to one or more children helps improve a child’s confidence and outlook. We believe what best-selling author and motivational speaker Josh Shipp has stated, “every child is one caring adult away from being a success story.”
