Missions

Jesus' call is for his followers to "go and make disciples of all nations" and to demonstrate God’s love and truth in our words and actions. Our youth program is dedicated to missions and serving those around us. We do this through local service opportunities, as well as going on mission trips throughout Texas, and raising money and awareness for needs around the world.

During the summer we have incredible mission trip opportunities for both our Junior High and Senior High School students. These mission trips are life-changing opportunities to experience God’s presence through community and serving others.

• Senior High School Students (entering 9th – 12th grade) we offer UM ARMY (United Methodist Reach-Out Missions by Youth).

• Junior High School Students (completed 6th grade - finishing 8th grade) we offer BASIC (Believing Affirming Serving in Christ).

SUMMER MISSION TRIPS

If you would be interested in going (both students and adults) on a summer mission trip, let Jordan Rodgers know!

If you would like to attend future trips, either as a student or an adult helper, please contact our Youth Director, Jordan Rodgers, for additional information. Also check us out on Facebook (Wimberley Methodist Youth), Twitter (wimberley_youth), Instagram (wimberleyyouth), and Snapchat (wimberleyyouth).

The need of the Education Station seems to have shifted from its initial purpose of a place for students with little or no internet at home or children who couldn’t be left home alone while a parent worked, to offering organizational and productivity support for students and respite for parents.

We understand that trying to manage your child’s at home learning can lead to a lot of anxiety for both caregiver and student.

It doesn’t matter if you work at home and have great bandwidth, you still may need an educational partner right now. Maybe you need a couple days to work uninterrupted or get the grocery shopping done, or just sit quietly alone in your house with no demand for a couple hours. We get it and you are not in this alone.

We want to help alleviate some of the stress that is created by having your kiddos schooling at home.

We have fantastic volunteers who can help get and keep your child on track and productive. Most of our volunteers are former educators. We may not fix it all, but we’d sure like to help.

We currently are open Tuesday and Thursday for Synchronous and Asynchronous students. 7:45-3:30. To register email wimberleykidz@gmail.come. Space is limited to 18 students each day.

Please share this information with anyone who might benefit from this ministry.

Methodist Youth Fellowship
(The Vault)

Sunday Nights

Methodist Youth Fellowship (The Vault) is our staple, year-round youth program, which will be meeting each Sunday from 5:00-6:00pm outside on the basketball court, beginning August 30, 2020. All students and small group leaders will wear masks.

Please don't hesitate to contact Jordan Rodgers with any questions.

Confirmation

We typically hold confirmation every other year for 6th grade students and older who are interested in growing deeper in their understanding and relationship with God. During confirmation class, confirmands learn about the meaning of Christian faith; the history and teachings and the United Methodist Church; and an explanation of the baptismal and membership vows they will be professing, should they choose to at the end of the confirmation process.

If you would be interested in teaching or participating in Confirmation in the future, please contact our Youth Director, Jordan Rodgers, to be a part of the class or for additional information.
